Residents of central London had a chance to see something a bit...odd today. To help mark the release of Halo: Reach, Microsoft enlisted a real-life jetpack. Accompanied by a few other Spartans, the rocketman took to the skies in a brief but undoubtedly impressive show.

As reported by the Daily Mail, current jetpack tech may be a bit behind Halo's fictional devices. With the real deal producing more than 140 decibels of ear-splitting noise, it's not likely that we'll be infiltrating enemy bases with these things any time soon. Here's hoping the next inevitable Halo game gets hyped with real-live energy swords.
