Chu Chu Rocket Coming To iOS

by Adam Biessener on Sep 12, 2010 at 09:00 AM

Sega is bringing the beloved Dreamcast classic to Apple's iPhone and iPad platforms. Chu Chu Rocket will support the recently launched Game Center, and comes with 100 levels pulled from the Dreamcast original.

Chu Chu Rocket has goofy Japanese puzzly gameplay to go along with its goofy Japanese name. Players direct mice toward rocket ships and away from cats via arrows on the floor. Where the Chu Chu part comes in, I don't know.

The iOS version of the game comes with multiplayer as well, though SlideToPlay notes that placing arrows has a "noticeable" lag when playing with other people.

Anyone else plan on picking this up? I can't have enough awesome puzzle games on my iPhone, and if there's one thing I've learned from years of interacting with Dreamcast nerds (besides the fact that I will never understand why people like Shenmue), it's that Chu Chu Rocket is awesome. Now if only we knew how much it is going to cost, and when it's coming out.
