Machinarium Coming To WiiWare

by Adam Biessener on Sep 11, 2010 at 05:43 AM

This gorgeous indie adventure is getting a console release, but it's not to XBLA or PSN as you might have assumed. Wii owners will be able to download the charming Czech-developed title whenever XGen Studios finishes the port.

NintendoLife reports that XGen is doing the Machinarium conversion as well as an original title by the name of Super Motherload, which follows up on the Motherload franchise with fou-player drop-in/drop-out co-op play.

If you haven't tried out Machinarium, it's worth a look. The unique steampunk aesthetic and lack of dialogue set it apart from the hordes of lame point-and-click adventures out there. It's currently available on Steam, soon to be on WiiWare, and developer Amanita Design is reportedly working to try to get it on PlayStation Network after being shot down by Microsoft for Xbox Live Arcade.

Incidentally, am I the only one who only knows what the heck "Amanita" means because of The Elder Scrolls? I can't be.
