Game School DigiPen Moves Into Huge New Facility

by Matt Helgeson on Aug 30, 2010 at 06:55 AM

While there are hundreds of game development education programs in the U.S., Redmond, Washington-based DigiPen Institute of Technology has established itself as one of the most respected since it was founded in 1988.

Today, DigiPen celebrates the opening of its brand new, 100,000 square foot campus in Redmond. School founder Claude Comair was on hand to help open the facility. "This building is a machine to build people," commented Comair. "It's a journey, but it's a difficult journey to finish."

Perhaps the most famous DigiPen alumni is the original Portal team, which was hired by Valve after creating the precursor to Portal, Narbacular Drop, as a student project at the school.
