Backbreaker Demo Has Been Downloaded One Million Times

by Jeff Cork on Aug 26, 2010 at 03:45 AM

NaturalMotion and 505 Games' football game Backbreaker has hit a milestone of sorts. According to its publisher, the game's demo has been downloaded one million times. What the game lacks in an official NFL license it attempts to make up for with its animations. Using NaturalMotion's own Euphoria engine, tackles and other animations are generated on the fly.

After the game was launched, it received a fairly substantial update, which added a new replay system, more than 110 new plays, and a user catch system.

One million downloads is certainly an impressive number, but it's probably best not to get too attached to the figure. Perhaps people were just morbidly curious.
