Dungeon Defenders Coming To Consoles

by Matt Miller on Aug 25, 2010 at 01:15 PM

Castle Crashers meets Defense of the Ancients in this new downloadable title for PSN and XBLA.

Already available on PC, Dungeon Defenders mixes action/RPG swords & sorcery with tower defense in a bright, colorful fantasy world. Created by Trendy Entertainment, the game will be releasing to both XBLA and PSN later this year. It will include local and online co-op for up to four players, with splitscreen options either way you choose to go. Each gamer takes on the role of one of four unique hero classes, each of which levels up with new abilities and equipment as you play. The goal of the game is to keep a teeming horde of attacking monsters from reaching your crystals, both through strategic placement of defensive emplacements, and by going out to slay the attackers yourself. Minion enemies will be bolstered by huge boss monsters that help to keep things interesting.

On PlayStation 3, the game will support PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D. Unfortunately, there's no word yet on a final release date, but signs point to a likely release before the turn of the New Year. You can learn more about the game at its official website.
