Why Is The PS3 FF XIV Playing Second Fiddle?

by Matthew Kato on Aug 24, 2010 at 08:50 AM

Some people will be playing Final Fantasy XIV at the end of this September. Others not until March of next year. If you haven't guessed, those who will be playing on the PS3 belong to the latter category.

Unfair as this is, the game's producer Hiromichi Tanaka tells VG247 it's due to memory issues with the PS3 versus the PC. "On the PC, they have enormous memory. For PS3 there's a restriction. They are adjusting the memory size and customizing it; it took longer then we were expecting. But we’re really working hard to bring it out as soon as possible."

In the meantime, PS3 owners can also watch their PC friends start up in the public beta in early September.
