Halo: Reach Will Have Campaign Matchmaking

by Jeff Marchiafava on Aug 22, 2010 at 08:55 AM

Bungie's massive Halo: Reach update from this weekend revealed a major addition to the series in a decidedly succinct way. In the Q&A section, one question (which was apparently submitted by a lolcat) asked: "Can I haz Campaign Matchmaking?" Bungie's answer: Yes.

Previous Halo campaigns have supported online co-op with friends, but this is the first time a player will be able to search for strangers to play through the story with. While that might not be the most enticing proposition to many gamers, it should come in handy when you want to play through on Legendary and none of your friends do.

Bungie's weekly update contained a ton of other information as well, including the following video of a map called The Cage, which was an early version of Lockout. The coolest part? It was made entirely in the new Forge mode. I can't wait to try building some crazy maps of my own.
