PlayStation Plus Shifts To Bi-Weekly Updates

by Phil Kollar on Aug 03, 2010 at 03:30 PM

It's only been just over a month since Sony launched their new PSN subscription service, PlayStation Plus, and already they're playing with how it works. The service will now be receiving updates every other week instead of weekly.

A post on the PlayStation Blog confirms the change and lets Plus subscribers know that there won't be any new content offered this week. Their patience will be rewarded on August 10 when they can download a free 60-minute trial of Red Faction: Guerrilla and early access to PixelJunk Racers Second Lap.

The post also contains a list of content that will no longer be available for free or discounted prices to PlayStation Plus subscribers as of next week. If you want Fieldrunners for free or Super Stardust for a mere $5, be sure to grab them this week.

I've already heard some discontent rumblings from the handful of people I know who paid for PlayStation Plus access. I can't imagine this change is going to make them any happier. Any PlayStation Plus subscribers reading this who want to comment on their feelings? Or for non-subscribers, does this make you feel any more vindicated in your decision to hold off?
