Video games based on movies have been a part of the industry for as long as the industry has existed. The large majority have been catastrophes, most famously E.T. for Atari 2600. While many of these are unbearably bad, others fall short of greatness but aren't disasters (Toy Story 3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine). We'd like to hear the GI community weigh on on their opinions of these titles.

Do you buy games based on movies? If so, do you feel their connection with a film you enjoy helps you look past the occasional gameplay flaw?

Which of these titles have you genuinely enjoyed? Which were trainwrecks that you regret buying? Did you feel any of the games actually surpassed the quality of the film they're based on?

Sound off in the comments below. We'd love to hear what you think.
