Halo: Reach's New Versus Mode Details

by Ben Reeves on Jul 22, 2010 at 10:39 PM

Firefight is hands-down one of the most popular new modes the Halo series has seen in a long time, so you have to expect that developer Bungie has been working on some ways to expand the mode in the upcoming Halo: Reach. At this year's Comic Con, Microsoft finally let slip some details.

The most exciting new feature to Firefight is the addition of Versus mode, a game type that will allow players to fight on either side of a firefight match. At Bungie's Comic-Con panel, the company demoed a two-player match where one Spartan against one human controlled Elite and an army of computer controlled Covenant soldiers. The game looks better than ever and we can't wait to play the finished version later this year.

Microsoft also talked about a new mode called Gruntpocalypse, which is basically all grunts all the time, but nobody actually cares about that.
