Atari may be looking to revive old school games Centipede and Star Raiders for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

According to listings at online game rental outlet GameFly via GameSpot, Atari appears to be planning to bring back the two games to modern consoles. Interestingly, while Atari announced last week that it was releasing a downloadable reboot of Haunted House, GameFly rents physical discs, so it seems that if these listings are correct, Centipede and Star Raiders would not be downloads.

While we can't argue with the greatness of Centipede, bringing back Star Raiders is an interesting choice. The game, which featured a pack-in numeric game pad, complete with a custom overlay, was a mess. The one notable thing about the game is that it featured TIE Fighter-like enemies. And if you' were like us when you were young, that was enough to warrant a purchase in and of itself, even though the game was junk.
