Capcom, you incorrigible teases! A new image posted on Capcom's official blog shows something that looks an awful lot like a Mega Buster, minus Mega Man. Is this a message from a kidnapper? OK, it's most likely tied to the publisher's plans to reveal a new game at this years's Comic-Con, which takes place next week in San Diego

Capcom has a couple of panels at the event, including one dedicated to Dead Rising 2. That would be an odd time to mention Mega Man, however. This one on Thursday (from Comic-Con's official schedule) sounds like a much more appropriate venue for something like this:

4:45-5:45 Capcom 2010 and Beyond!— See the latest trailers and get the inside scoop on all of Capcom's most highly anticipated games for 2010 and beyond: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Sengoku Basara, Okamiden, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Ghost Trick, Dead Rising 2, and more. On top of all that, hear details on an exciting new game announcement by Capcom legend Keiji Inafune, the father of Mega Man! Room 6BCF

It's not as though Mega Man has been MIA; he's starred in a pair of successful retro-style downloadable games, Mega Man 9 and 10. Could it be a retail-ready game? One thing's almost certain: If this is teasing another Mega Man Battle Network game, you'll be able to hear the groans from space.
