Celebrating Dragon Quest IX This Weekend

by Joe Juba on Jul 08, 2010 at 08:00 AM

What are you doing this weekend? If you own a DS, love RPGs, and are willing to make a trip to New York, you can spend your Saturday celebrating the release of Dragon Quest IX!

The Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Plaza is hosting a community event on Saturday, July 10 from 1:00 to 4:00 in celebration of Dragon Quest's official July 11 release. If you go, you can buy the game early, or just play it for free at the demo stations. Once you have the game in-hand, you'll be able to hook up and play multiplayer with all of the other DQ fans in your immediate vicinity.

Also, if you're one of the first 30 people in line to buy the game, you'll get an autograph from the legendary creator of Dragon Quest, Yuji Horii. If none of those perks are enough to get you out to Rockefeller Plaza, maybe you'll be tempted by Nintendo's promise of a Dragon Quest-themed ice cream truck. If that doesn't push you over the edge, then you are truly lost.
