Metal Gear Solid: Rising To Offer Plenty Of Environmental Kill Opportunities
In a roundtable Q&A session today, Metal Gear Solid: Rising director Mineshi Kimura mentioned that the game will feature many opportunities to use the environment as a weapon. Those who saw the game's trailer will remember a scene in which Raiden sliced the supports of a balcony, causing a balcony to fall on two soldiers.
I asked Kimura if situations like this would be frequent in Rising, and he responded with "We want to put in as many gimmicks as possible." Normally the word "gimmicks" conjures up images of questionable motion control or other undesirable elements, but I'm all for it in this case. It's pretty hard to complain about murdering countless foes in creative and hilarious ways. No release date has been announced yet, but Metal Gear Solid fans (as well as anyone who enjoys insane action games) should definitely keep an eye on this one.
