Konami Confirms Multiplayer Castlevania

by Joe Juba on Jun 15, 2010 at 08:23 AM

Castlevania fans with an ear for rumors shouldn't be surprised to hear that Konami has officially unveiled Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. The Xbox Live-exclusive title will be a part of the Summer of Arcade event, which has previously included titles like Braid, Castle Crashers, and Shadow Complex.

Designed by series veteran Koji Igarashi, Harmony of Despair will feature multiplayer for up to six people in classic side-scrolling action.  Konami says that players will be able to select "fan favorite" vampire hunters, and while we don't know the full list of playable characters, the art indicates that you'll at least see Soma, Alucard, and Shanoa. Players will use cooperative attacks and teamwork as they explore the massive levels inspired by Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia.

Konami hasn't announced a specific release date, but Summer of Arcade starts in July, so it shouldn't be long.
