Rayman Returns In Rayman Origins

by Adam Biessener on Jun 14, 2010 at 03:40 PM

The Ubisoft press conference took a turn for the nostalgic with the announcement of Rayman Origins. This 2D platformer has Rayman teaming up with an anthropomorphic blob in a nature-themed, comedic adventure.

The trailer showed Rayman and his buddy cooperating to overcome their cartoony challenges, but it is unknown whether the gameplay allows for a second player. The only other mechanic on display was Rayman's ear-propeller, which he used to mischievously blow up fairy's skirts as well as to keep enemies at bay and solve environmental puzzles.

We don't so much as know the platforms that Rayman Origins will be appearing on, but it's a safe bet that we'll get more info at Ubi's booth on the E3 show floor. The series' traditional tongue-in-cheek humor shines brightly in this announcement trailer, so we'll make sure to dig up as much as possible on this project in the coming days.
