Ever since Visual Concept's NFL 2K series bowed out of the race, football fans have always bemoaned EA Sports' exclusive deal with the NFL. Well, today EA isn't the only game in town with the NFL license. Not online, anyway.

Free-to-play, browser-based Quick Hit football – featuring members of from the NFL 2K development team – has announced that they have secured a multi-year deal with the NFL to feature the league's teams (including their colors, uniforms, etc.) as well as the Super Bowl, AFC, NFC, and Pro Bowl logos. One thing conspicuously absent from the announcement, however, is a deal with the NFL Players Association. So far, QuickHit does use deals with individual players such as Randy Moss, as well as coaches like Brian Billick. A Quick Hit representative has told us that players that Quick Hit has agreements with, like Barry Sanders or Moss, will appear on their appropriate teams in the game.

Quick Hit Football is a strategic, top-down game using player cards where you call the plays and can spend coaching points and utilize player skills to beat others online. Check out the game here, and start building your team.
