Capcom Looking To "Heat Up" Resident Evil Series

by Jeff Marchiafava on Jun 09, 2010 at 01:30 PM

Given the current zombie craze the video game industry is experiencing right now, it should come as no surprise that more Resident Evil is on the way. But thanks to an ambiguous statement from Capcom CEO Haruhiro Tsujimoto, we now know when to expect something new.

The news comes from an extensive interview with Nikkei BP, which covers everything from the 3DS to an online Mega Man game. The part that should get Resident Evil fans excited stemmed from a discussion of the upcoming movie. Here's the translated quote from Tsujimoto: "The 3D movie Resident Evil IV Afterlife starring Milla Jovovich is scheduled to hit theaters on September 10. What exactly Capcom has planned is unknown – it could be anything from Resident Evil 6, to a cell phone game. If only there was some kind of big gathering coming up that the company could use for announcing their future plans...
