Sony Announces New Value Initiatives For PSP Games

by Annette Gonzalez on Jun 01, 2010 at 10:00 AM

Sony has announced a variety of new initiatives for PSP owners that offer popular software at a lower price point.

Beginning today, Sony will launch their "Favorites" line that will offer select PSP titles for $9.99, which include the following:

  • Ape Escape: On the Loose
  • Buzz! Master Quiz
  • Hot Shots Golf Open Tee
  • LocoRoco 2
  • Patapon 2
  • PixelJunk Monster Deluxe
  • SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo
  • Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
  • Twisted Metal: Head On
  • Justice League Heroes
  • Manhunt 2
  • Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play
  • Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection
  • Silent Hill: Origins
  • Sims 2
  • The Warriors

A "Digital Game Pack" will also be available for adopters of the PSPgo that offers PSN vouchers for three games when purchased between June 1 and March 31, 2011. This includes PSP options such as LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3. The existing "Greatest Hits" line of software will also have four games added to its library: Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance: Retribution, and Secret Agent Clank.

Though software price cuts on top titles usually means a console is headed toward the end of its cycle, Sony says the PSP "will see great momentum in 2010." If you've been waiting around to pick up some new PSP games, now's the time to do it.
