Guitar Hero Goes D&D With Warriors of Rock
First it was rumors of a Rock Band 3 keytar. Now a Nintendo Power article reveals the next guitar-based Activision music game, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, features a Quest mode replete with a rock fantasy storyline. What the hell is going on in the struggling music space?!
According to the article, not much will change from Guitar Hero 5 to Warriors of Rock when it comes to the basics. You'll still jam to guitar-centric tunes with the same instruments. Instead of messing with the tried and true formula, Neversoft has focused its efforts toward building a story mode narrated by Kiss frontman Gene Simmons that borrows heavily from the comedic styling of Tenacious D and Brutal Legend. By strumming your guitar, you'll somehow assemble an army to defeat The Beast and restore the legacy of the demigod of rock in the process. We can't wait to hear what Tim Schafer has to say about the plot.
