Namco Bandai Trademarks Time Crisis

by Tim Turi on May 11, 2010 at 06:45 AM

Light gun fans rejoice! Those tired of shooting from the hip with Wii Remotes may have something to look forward to from Namco Bandai in the future. The company has filed a trademark for their arcade shooter, Time Crisis.

The trademark, found by Superannuation, was filed for “computer game programs, cartridges, etc.” This confirms that Time Crisis is still a video game, and not being revamped into a time management self-improvement program.

It’s an awfully big coincidence that Namco is re-upping the Time Crisis brand in the same year that advanced motion control technology is coming to the 360 and PS3. I'm definitely all for a light gun game that actually lets me aim with the sights of a gun rather than loosely aiming and mindlessly squeezing the trigger. I'm interested to see if a future game in the series stays true to the series' arcade roots.
