NCAA Football 11 Charges Onto The Field

by Matthew Kato on May 05, 2010 at 05:40 AM

Pageantry and tradition are huge parts of college football, and they are something that has been largely missing in past iterations of EA Sports' NCAA Football series. This year's game attempts to bring more of that to fans via team-specific pre-game entrances.

Last year's Madden game upped that franchise's presentation greatly, and now NCAA Football 11 is trying to do that in its own unique way. Many college teams have traditional rituals or objects that mark their pre-game preparations or entrances. Tennessee players touch a sign that reads, "I will give my all for Tennessee today!" before they step onto the field. Ohio State players lock arms as they run out. These kind of team-specific touches are being created for the game, and  designer Greg Heddlesten has a new blog outlining some of the entrances and pre-game rituals for NCAA Football 11. Head over there and you can not only check out video more of these in action, but you'll also get a behind-the-scenes look at how the development team created the Miami Hurricane's entrance.
