Resident Evil 1’s Tyrant Cut From Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Roster
During Capcom’s big reveal of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, producer Ryota Niitsuma was asked if the Tyrant from the original Resident Evil would be playable. His answer regarding the giant, clawed t-virus abomination was a bit of a shocker.
“I can tell you this,” Niitsuma began. “There were plans to include Tyrant in the game up to the very middle. Then we kind of cut that. Sorry.”
If you didn’t already know, Jill Valentine could summon the Tyrant from the ground with one of her super moves in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. The skinned gorilla-looking creature would burst from under the stage similarly to the way he did in Resident Evil 1’s conclusion on the mansion heliport.
Consider me saddened that I will not be able to deliver a dragon uppercut to the mutant’s exposed heart.
