Sony Sponsors 3D Gaming Summit

by Ben Reeves on Apr 08, 2010 at 07:21 AM

Sony Computer Entertainment America has just signed on to be the premier sponsor of the inaugural 3D Gaming Summit. Similar to the 3D Entertainment Summit first held last year, the Gaming Summit is intended to be a time for the who’s who within the industry to get together and celebrate and discuss everything exciting about 3D gaming. This event will be held April 21-22, at the Hilton Los Angeles in Universal City, CA.

This sponsorship means that Sony will not only have a major speaking presence during the event, but will also provide much of the 3D equipment, demonstrations, display, and an array of entertainment for the event’s 3D Gaming Lounge. The 3D Gaming Summit will also feature keynotes, one-on-one interviews, panels, networking breaks, a technology showcase, and a special event evening with an industry reception.

"The 3D Gaming Summit is delighted that Sony is a premier sponsor of an event bringing together the biggest names and brightest minds in the sector,” says Bob Dowling, Summit co-producer. “The participation of Sony demonstrates the potential of stereoscopic 3D to change the face of the gaming universe and to drive screens to the home, a key goal of our entertainment constituency.”

This is a fairly new event, but is possible that some exciting news could come out of the conference. At the very least, this will be another chance for Sony to convince us why we need to buy one of its 3D ready TVs.
