Square Enix Music announced today plans to release a second soundtrack from Final Fantasy XIII, including several brand new tracks not available on the original release.

As of now, the only listing on the teaser site for the soundtrack is for a Japanese release of the "Final Fantasy XIII Original Soundtrack - Plus." The new score recording will cost ¥2,500, or around $25 U.S. The site indicates a date of May 26 for purchase.

The new "Plus" soundtrack will include background music that was only heard in the overseas version of the game. In addition, the new version will include several newly arranged tracks from composer Masashi Hamauzu.

In addition to some great new music, the soundtrack also comes with a gorgeous cover image, that can be seen in full below.

What did you think of the FFXIII musical score? Is it worth a second soundtrack purchase?
