Mega Man 10 Finally Hits XBLA, Plus PSN's Half-Off Sale

by Matt Miller on Mar 30, 2010 at 12:59 PM

The downloadable game scene is hard to keep track of. Let us do it for you.

It's been nearly a month since Nintendo unveiled their short-term exclusive of Mega Man 10. PlayStation Network took second place a couple of weeks ago. But gamers on Microsoft's console needn't fear blue bomber withdrawal. Mega Man 10 is finally releasing to XBLA this Wednesday, March 31st. 800 Microsoft points ($10) should get you all the frustration any retro gamer could want.

WiiWare has two new games that arrived this week. The first is Diner Dash – the wildly popular food service action game. For 1,000 Wii points ($10) you'll be able to guide Flo as she tackles the challenging profession of restauranteur. The fast-paced game has Flo running around to seat patrons, get them their food, and sweep them out the door before they lose patience. The game includes online head-to-head play, and even an online team mode where you play against large groups of other players. The simple but addictive formula has been a hit on other platforms, and should be a fun addition to the WiiWare service.

WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase fills out Nintendo's offerings for the week. It's the first time that the microgame craziness of WarioWare has shown up on WiiWare. This simplified version of the recent DS title has the expected mix of dozens of tiny games that test your reflexes and tickle your funny bone. Unlike the DS release, it doesn't appear that the WiiWare title includes creation tools to make your own games. However, you will be able to download and play new microgames created by your friends on the DS title, and download games from the NinSoft Store. This latest addition to the WarioWare family of games run you 800 Wii points ($8).

PlayStation Network is playing host to a brand new dedicated publisher page beginning this Thursday, April 1st. TikGames and Creat Studios may not be names that are well known to lots of gamers, but they already have nine downloadable games on the service. These games, along with all their related themes and wallpapers, will now be hosted on a dedicated page on PSN. Why should you care? To celebrate their new initiative, the publisher has slashed seven of those nine titles to 50% off their original price. Magic Orbz, Mushroom Wars, and Cuboid will now cost $4.99. Smash Cars dips down to $7.49. And Interpol, Mahjong Tales, and Digger HD will see similar drops. Their two most recent titles, Hamsterball and Wakeboarding HD, only came out last week and remain at full price.

Do you ever come back to download a game after the publisher has dropped the price? Are you going to spare a few bucks for any of this week's downloadable offerings?
