Harvest Moon Creator Steps Down From Marvelous

by Joe Juba on Mar 24, 2010 at 12:50 PM

Yasuhiro Wada, creator of the Harvest Moon franchise, has decided to step down as director of digital entertainment at Marvelous. The company cited "personal reasons" for Wada's departure, though he will continue to work with Marvelous as an advisor.

The report comes at the tail end of a rough fiscal year for Marvelous, which saw disappointing sales of its titles and salary cuts for executives. In addition to being known for its Harvest Moon series, Marvelous published No More Heroes, Little King's Story, and Muramasa: The Demon Blade in Japan (each of which had different publishers in North America). While each of those titles certainly appeals to a certain set of gamers, apparently they failed to attract a large enough audience.

Wada's last day in his current role will be March 31, the final day of Japan's fiscal year.
