by Matt Helgeson on Mar 08, 2010 at 07:13 AM

In an interview with Industry Gamers, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey said, “there is building suspension [sic] for a pre-E3 GTA V announcement.” Hickey also stated that it is unlikely that anything about the game would be revealed at E3 itself.

He went on to forecast a bright future for the GTA franchise, predicting that “the next iteration of GTA for console can significantly outsell its predecessor, reflecting the sales acceleration of the prior cycle GTA console iterations, and accelerating core gamer base (which an emphasis on PS3 installed expansion where GTA has historically dominated relatively), and the most talented/motivated development team in the world, in our view.”

Considering that Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company) recently announced that GTA IV has racked up over 15 million in sales worldwide, that’s a bold prediction.

As always, we can expect Rockstar to play its cards close to the vest regarding any news with the GTA franchise.
