Tropico 3 Expansion Coming To PC This Summer

by Adam Biessener on Mar 01, 2010 at 06:01 AM

Ten new missions, a bunch of new buildings, and "Megalomania" edicts will enable Tropican dictators when the Absolute Power expansion hits this summer. The city simulator has always been about real ultimate power, and this add-on from original Tropico 3 developer Haemimont Games gives players more tools for controlling the unruly populace (or keeping them happy and productive, depending on who you ask) than ever.

In addition to the new missions (which are on brand-new islands that will also be available for sandbox mode), Tropico 3: Absolute Power adds six landmarks that "dominate the island landscape", a Loyalist faction that wants nothing more than to keep you in power, palace upgrades including a rooftop pool, and more. Most importantly, new radio spots will spice up the island. Even so, I'm putting the over/under on when good ol' Juanito gets muted at two missions.

If you haven't checked out Tropico 3 yet, I highly recommend both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game. We don't get too many city simulators these days, but this one at least is worth a look.

Tropico 3: Absolute Power is expected to ship this summer, and requires the full version of Tropico 3 to play. No announcement of a possible 360 release has been made.
