Rock Band Creators Honored By USA Network

by Bryan Vore on Feb 25, 2010 at 06:05 AM

Co-founders of Rock Band developer Harmonix Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy have received a Character Approved award from USA. Apparently, these awards happened last year, but no video game developers won so we didn't care.

The vignette featuring the Harmonix helmers just went up today alongside the other winners, whom you may or may not have heard of:

-Kehinde Wiley, artist
-Angela Brooks, architect
-Yves Behar, industrial designer
-Narciso Rodriguez, fashion designer
-Kathryn Bigelow, director of The Hurt Locker
-Dan Barber, Chef
-Jessica Jackley, co-founder of Kiva.org
-Green Day, band
-Nora Ephron, Julie & Julia director, writer, and producer

According to USA, the Character Approved Awards "honor the real characters who are changing the face of American Culture," and that the honorees "are innovators in their field who influence our opinions, our style, and our view of the world."
