Hold on to your … uh, spy stuff, kids! Sega has announced a release date for its upcoming RPG Alpha Protocol. The game, originally set for a holiday 2009 release, is now going to be landing on store shelves June 1.

“The wait has been worth it. It is time for an RPG to go beyond fantasy and space,” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing for SEGA of America. “The genre needs a shot in the arm, and renowned developer Obsidian has delivered. Alpha Protocol will be the absolute best it can be, and we look forward to revealing fresh aspects of it to the community in the upcoming months.”

To mark the occasion, Sega has released a new trailer for the game, showing off some of the characters Michael Thorton will be working with—and against—during his mission. Note: If you ever decide to work with a vaguely European crime syndicate, at least wear proper clothing during your patrols. Do you really want to spend the last few moments of your life in a tracksuit?
