Spiders Suffer In New God of War Comic Art

by Andrew Reiner on Feb 16, 2010 at 06:50 AM

By now, most of you have completed God of War III, and are likely on your second or third playthrough. Since the time for spoilers has long passed, let's talk about the game's ending and the direction Sony may be heading in for the sequel. First off, I did not see the big twist coming. I'm sure it even made M. Night Shyamalan gasp. I mean...No one in the world could have guessed that Kratos was actually a deranged homeless person in Miami and not a great warrior in Olympus. Sony did such a great job of hiding this aspect of the game in the first two installments. With that out of the way, let's talk about the tie-in this game has with ModNation Ra...wait...what's that? The game isn't out yet? I just ruined it for everyone? Oh...

It certainly sucks to be you right now. I would hate having this game ruined for me. But keep that chin up, champ. I haven't spoiled the forthcoming God of War comic yet. A few weeks ago we detailed what to expect in the first issue. Today, the good folks at DC Comics have given us the exclusive reveal of the second issue. The art above – depicting a battle between Kratos and a hairy Chewbacca spider – is from the hand of the amazing Andy Park, and will rightfully be the second issue's cover.

The first issue explores Kratos' childhood. The second issue jumps ahead in time to show Kratos as a Spartan captain. His mission? Kill Poseidon's underwater monsters! This series is written by Marv Wolfman and features interior art by Andrea Sorrentino. This issue will arrive on comic shelves on May 26.
