UPDATE: The special Final Fantasy XIII edition bundle for the Xbox 360 has been confirmed at Microsoft's X10 event, and we've got all the details.

As rumored via the leaked ad below, the new 360 will launch at $399.99 on March 9, the same date as Final Fantasy XIII arrives in stores. It will be bundled with two controllers, a copy of FF XIII, special Avatar items, and a 250GB hard drive, the biggest available for the 360 thus far.

If you already own a 360 but still want to show a bit of the Final Fantasy spirit, Microsoft is also offering a limited edition FF XIII faceplate created by Square-Enix designer Tetsuya Nomura. Check out the image of that below.

ORIGINAL STORY: Square Enix's long overdue RPG may be hitting store shelves in myriad ways. Digging around on Microsoft's Expertzone retail training website, NeoGAF reader Jmoe316 uncovered the picture above. Those of you with eagle-like vision will quickly notice that the console pictured is plain white (nothing special about that at all). To add even more suspicion to its validity, the description says the console is black. Since this is just a retail training site, the images are likely placeholder. Could it be fake? Most certainly. But before you stare upon it with shifty eyes, I can say that I have heard rumors of two bundles coming to 360 this year. The first being Final Fantasy XIII. The second? Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Calls and emails have been sent to both Square Enix and Microsoft to try and confirm this machine's validity.
