For fans of DICE’s large scale, destruction-packed multiplayer mayhem, March 2 can’t get here soon enough. But when it finally does arrive, there will be some additional DLC goodness just waiting to be downloaded.

In an interview with Worth Playing, senior producer Patrick Bach revealed that Bad Company 2 will feature an in-game store for downloading free content and buying DLC.  “We see the game as the first step to a longer experience.... It's a very integral part of the game that we will have a long post-launch campaign. I think people will be thrilled to see what's in that already. On day one, you will get some really cool stuff.”

There’s no word yet on what the first DLC will be, but I’m guessing it will follow the formula EA laid out with Mass Effect 2’s Cerberus Network, offering a steady trickle of free items as extra incentive for gamers to buy new copies of the game. Until we find out what it is for sure, anyone want to wager a guess as to what this “really cool stuff” might be?
