Bayonetta Sells 1.1 Million in Japan
Sega saw an uptick in its most recent fiscal report, including a strong start for its new hair-clad heroine.
According to a recently released financial report, Sega Sammy saw a net income of ¥16.9 billion (around $189.5 million) during the period from April to December of 2009. Included as a small part of that income was Bayonetta, which sold 1.1 million units. It's worth noting that Sega's witch-heavy action game had only been released in Japan during this period, beginning on October 29. Early sales for Bayonetta here in the US remain unreported, as the game released stateside on January 5.
The original noting of Sega's financial details comes via a posting at Joystiq.
