Update: 10 Motion Controller Games In 2010

by Matthew Kato on Jan 28, 2010 at 11:10 AM

UPDATE: Sony of Japan plans to have approximately 10 games for the launch window of its motion controller, from its fall launch until the end of 2010.

ORIGINAL STORY: Sony of Japan is saying that it plans to have approximately 10 games to support the launch of its motion controller.

While touting a profitable third quarter – thanks in part to strong sales of the PlayStation 3 – the company said it is also looking forward to putting out around 10 games for the device's launch this fall. When the controller was first announced, numerous third-party publishers pledged support to the device (rumored to be called Arc), but so far no high-profile titles have been officially announced for the unit. It's also worth considering that this news comes from Japan, so there will always be different launch plans for different international regions. The debut of Sony's still-unnamed motion controller was delayed recently from spring to fall to give developers more time with the product.

In my mind it's not the quantity of titles that need to be at launch, it's the quality. If all we get are nine tech demos and one half-assed title, that's going to be lame.
