PS3 DVR Service Coming To Japan
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has just announced a new USB-connected digital TV tuner called Torne that will allow users to browse channels and record content on the PlayStation 3. The device will sell for ¥9,980 (approximately $110) in Japan this March.
Torne allows users to schedule recordings during gameplay sessions, while watching Blu-rays and DVDs, or during standby mode. Recorded content can be exported to PSPs and external hard drives.
A new PS3/Torne bundle will launch simultaneously for ¥42,800 ($470). This will also include a 250GB hard drive to accommodate for space hogging TV content.
So now that Japan has Torne and Europe and Australia have a similar Play TV device, when do you think North America will finally see PS3 DVR support?
