Sony's Movie Store Expands Beyond The PS3

by Nick Ahrens on Jan 06, 2010 at 04:37 PM

Are you a big spender at the PlayStation Store? Specifically with things like movies and music? Well you're in luck, as Sony has announced that it is extending the reach of the premium content for PSN beyond just the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. Citing everyone's favorite buzz word, the cloud, users that buy this content now have the option to view from several Sony electronics products. Sony's Kaz Hirai took the stage and revealed (sorta) that future devices like TVs, Blu-Ray players, desktops, and notebooks will also support the content bought via PSN. No real word yet on how they plan on doing this, or if the devices will accept your PSN ID, but current users can begin utilizing the expanded service later this month, with the BD players following soon after.
