Blizzard's Brack Makes Non-Comment About Console Development, World Gasps
World of Warcraft production director J. Allen Brack noted in a recent interview that Blizzard will "definitely work on a console game at some point." The company has yet to release a full-on console game (since Lost Vikings II in 1997). Console ports of Diablo and StarCraft were tremendously late and mediocre at best, and Blizzard shut down work on StarCraft: Ghost after the game failed to meet internal quality standards.
Talking to Gamasutra, Brack pointed out that the company's pre-WoW bread and butter, real-time strategy, has to date been a better experience on PC. Echoing dozens of comments made by various Blizzard staff over the years, he said that when the developer has a solid idea for a console game, they'll make one – and not before.
Tell us why StarCraft 64 was totally awesome and Blizzard needs to stop being such PC fanboys in the comments below!
