1.8M FFXIII Units Shipped In Japan, Would Make Tall Pile If Stacked

by Annette Gonzalez on Dec 17, 2009 at 06:02 AM

With the much-hyped release of Final Fantasy XIII in Japan yesterday, Square Enix announced they have shipped 1.8 million copies of the game for PS3, more than enough to cover the crowds of fans waiting to get their hands on the game. Were that many copies needed for launch?

Several launch events were held at various locations across Japan with hundreds of people in line. Crowds were seemingly larger than the huge release of Dragon Quest IX earlier this year according to Magicbox. Official sales numbers have yet to be released and we’ll provide them once they become available.

Final Fantasy XIII is set to hit stateside March 9th. Will you pick up a copy?
