Even though overall property crime has fallen, reported thefts of video game consoles and other high-end electronics are on the rise. FBI data show theft of DS and PlayStation systems has jumped 285% over three years to 42,615 in 2009 (number of thefts for consoles was 11,074 in 2007).

It's well-known that the holidays are the most common time for electronics theft and smaller, portable items are the most targeted. With the holidays among us just be sure to keep an eye on your beloved game systems. Have any of you been a victim of electronics theft?
