Borderlands Expands Again With Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot DLC

Early looks at Borderlands drew some comparisons to Fallout 3 thanks to its apocalyptic, open-world environment. A couple of months after its release, it looks like there's another way you can compare the two - the frequency of substantial downloadable content. Bethesda kept the DLC train rolling with five huge add-on packs, and Borderlands has just announced its second in as many months. Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot will release on December 29th for Xbox Live and January 7th for Playstation Network (for 800 MS Points and $9.99, respectively).

The Underdome brings along three Riot Mode arenas that sound similar to the increasingly-difficult arena battles from the original retail release. Players can team up to earn cash and loot, and a new bank feature will allow them extra space to store all their winnings. For those that feel their characters have hit a brick wall in terms of progression, two new quests will offer skill points as rewards.
