Fight Night DLC Issues Force EA To Throw In Towel

by Jeff Cork on Dec 07, 2009 at 04:41 AM

EA has pulled the Champions Pack 2 from the Xbox Live Marketplace less than a week after its release. The published acknowledged the move in an official statement, citing numerous complaints with the DLC freezing consoles during the download process. A fix is in the works, and the company says it hopes to have the updated version available sometime before the Christmas holiday, which is a little over two weeks from now.

It's a rare move, but it's definitely not unprecedented. In March, Bethesda removed Fallout 3's "The Pitt" DLC after it was discovered that the original file had been corrupted. Bethesda was able to come up with a solution in relatively short order, and it appears that EA will be following suit.

The Champions Pack 2 adds fighters Bernard Hopkins, Sonny Liston, and Evander Holyfield, in addition to a new ruleset and Ring Rivalries mode.
