Guild Wars 2 Five Races Teaser Video
ArenaNet sends along this teaser video (below) for its upcoming MMO Guild Wars 2. The trailer doesn't show any gameplay details, but the artistry on display is impressive.
The five races – stalwart humans, monstrous Charr, bear-morphing Norn, crafty Asura, and mystical Sylvari – will struggle together against the malefic elder dragons that threaten all civilization. Guild Wars 2 will incorporate the franchise's iconic level-playing-field PvP, but the kind of factional warfare found in World of Warcraft or Aion will not exist. Open-world PvP will be available in an area called the Mists, though ArenaNet has not given any details on how the Mists work or their connection to the regular world.
Guild Wars 2 will feature a genre-standard persistent world, a significant change from its heavily instanced predecessor. ArenaNet has also talked up the game's extensive underwater exploration and fast-paced, accessible design.
No release date has yet been announced for Guild Wars 2. The game was revealed two years ago, though, so hopefully more info will drop soon.
