We here at Game Informer spend a copious amount of time playing video games. We dedicate hours of our work days to playing games only to go home, kick up our feet, and play more. To my knowledge, however, no one on staff has shown such dedication as to pop the question to an in-game character, unlike a recently married Japanese gamer.

The proud groom, who refers to himself as SAL 9000, has been joined in holy matrimony to Nene Anegasaki, the lucky lady from DS dating sim LovePlus. The ceremony took place at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, which is odd because that sounds like a place where smart people would go. There was even an actual, flesh and blood priest to legitimize the whole thing.

SAL 9000 explains how he and his wives’ relationship was formed:

“OK, this is pretty embarrassing. The DS has a mic and a touchscreen, so... one time, she asked me to say "I love you" a hundred times into the mic. I was on the airplane when she asked me that, so I was like, no way. There was also this part where you have to hold her hand on the touchscreen. If you touch her hand with the stylus, you get to hold her hand. And then there's the part where you have to kiss her.”

Embarassing? Nah… Aren’t we all practically married to video games? This guy is just making an honest cartridge out of his game. We don’t condone pre-marital mic-blowing.
