The most recent issue of Famitsu out of Japan has revealed a tasty bit of info for Street Fighter fans: the return of car-crushing and barrel-smashing bonus stages. The magazine features screens from Capcom’s upcoming Super Street Fighter IV, depicting Ryu hurricane-kicking a car and waiting underneath a conveyer belt to wreck some hapless falling barrels.

Given how much Street Fighter IV banked on gamers’ fond memories of Street Fighter II, it seemed strange that these ridiculous and iconic stages didn’t make a return when SF IV released earlier this year. Along with adding characters like T. Hawk and Dee Jay back to the roster, Super Street Fighter IV’s opportunity to punch the fender off a sedan is just another way it’s shaping up to be the definitive Street Fighter experience when it releases next year.
