Gussy Up With Left 4 Dead 2 Avatar Awards
Valve has officially confirmed the inclusion of Avatar Awards for their upcoming undead-addled sequel, Left 4 Dead 2. This news comes after some ambitious Steam forum-sleuths uncovered game files hinting at the virtual swag. If you’re interested in slapping Rochelle’s bright pink Depeche Mode Shirt on your digital likeness, read on for the details on how to earn them.
G4 reports that there are nine awards in total, but only six of them have been confirmed:
- Two Left 4 Dead 2 shirts can be unlocked by winning 10 games in Scavenge Mode (just remember: kill before you fill).
- Two shirts with the classic “Zombie Hand” L4D logo on it can be unlocked by killing 10,000 Infected (trust me, you’ll get this before you know it).
- Two Depeche Mode shirts can be unlocked by rescuing Gnome Chompski in the Dark Carnival campaign (Good luck!).
All the awards seem pretty manageable save for the Gnome Chompski one. First you have to win the lawn ornament by performing well in a shooting-gallery mini-game, then you must escort the him through a zombie-infested amusement park. You’re definitely going to resent the little guy until that last tense second when you leap into your rescue vehicle, but at least you’ll have a wicked Depeche Mode shirt.
