World Of Warcraft's Horde Finally Getting Comic Book Love
Game Informer may seem like a fun place to work. We play games, write about games, and blab about games. This is the image we project. Behind the scenes, this game-loving organization is governed by rules. To be exact, there are 1,442 rules we have to follow.
Rule 15: You will be fired if you engage in "dull" blade swordfighting.
Rule 192: The Twizzlers in the vending machine are made of poison. You will die if you eat them. Andy is the only person immune to this poison.
Rule 518: The robotic panda is not allowed in the kitchen.
Rule 874: If you say good things about World of Warcraft's Alliance, everyone on staff gets to throw a coffee mug at your face.
Let me just say this, we don't have a lot of coffee mugs left. This is a Horde office. Alliance are not welcome. On January 6, Wildstorm Comics is doing its part to win over the Horde players with a comic book series based solely around the Horde. In the first issue, the orc Malgar wages war against the Kolkar Clan, and, since he's Horde, and this is a Horde book, kicks major ass. Fans will also get their first look at a new character named Ironhoof. This monthly series is written by Doug Wagner, and features interior and cover art from Pop Mhan.
I don't play World of Warcraft, but I did notice something strange when I stumbled upon this story. This is the first issue of the Horde storyline, yet Alliance is already up to issue 26. I know numbers like this mean nothing to WoW players. Nothing to lose sleep over. Or, I dunno, start a thread about if you are an Alliance player. Just sayin'.
