Oddworld’s Abe Porting To PSN

by Meagan Marie on Oct 09, 2009 at 04:56 AM

In a recent interview with Lorne Lanning, Bitmobber Toby Davis uncovered an interesting tidbit about the Oddworld franchise. Speaking to Lanning, co-founder and creative head of Oddworld Inhabitants, Davis prodded about the possibility of the first two Oddworld games porting to PSN. Conveniently, Lanning was able to answer.

“Funny you should ask,” began Lanning, “because they are already on their way. We just signed the contract this week and the original Abe games will officially be coming to PSN very soon.”

Lanning also divulged that the team is in the process of porting Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath to PC, and that the two titles will be released with the original Abe games this winter in an aptly named Oddbox.

The interview made for an interesting read, with Lanning touching on his favorite Oddworld character, the canceled Oddworld RTS and the future of Oddworld Inhabitants.

We’ll keep you updated when more details of the PSN ports come to light.
